2010 Cadillac CTX

Chris Doane caught a shot of the 2010 Cadillac CTX (originally named the BRX) which rides on the Theta-Epsilon chassis. This new CUV is expected to move into production in May of 2009 at the Ramos Arizpe plant. The CTX shares its platform with the Saab 9-4X. Expect about 75,000 units annually.
We’ll likely see the CTX use the 300 horsepower direct-injection 3.6 liter V6 found in the CTS. A 2.0 liter turbo-diesel variant is also in the works, however, it may not be sold in the United States market. Read more

In case you haven’t noticed, the new 2008 Cadillac CTS is very eye-catching - especially at night. In front, there are vertical bars on the outside of each headlight that gives the front-end a very unusual appearance. It screams “Cadillac” without having to say anything. When Lincoln presented the MKT concept at the Detroit Auto Show, it reminded me a little of the past. Remember when they first introduced the Navigator? Cadillac rushed through the design process and gave us little more than a rebadged GMC Yukon Denali. It was smaller than the Navigator, a five-seater, and used the exact same engine with identical performance to the GMC model. The first Cadillac Escalade was a largely unsuccessful endeavor. Automotive Web site AutoExtremist.com claims to have inside information that the C7 going midengine is nearly a done deal; a final decision is due next month, it insists. However, talks like this have been going on since the 1960s. Being that the Cadillac XLR is built on the same architecture as the current Corvette, it would make sense that it too would become a mid-engined vehicle. Read more

There is no doubt that the Cadillac CTS Sedan is worthy of the attention, and even the price tag that is carries, but it does have some competition on the market. Many consumers have a hard time deciding what is what and why a Cadillac may be better than the competition, which are the Lexus IS250 and the Chrysler 300, in this case.
