In an interview with Leftlane in March, Cadillac General Manager Jim Taylor said if his company was going to make a “V” coupe, it would probably arrive at the same time as the regular CTS Coupe, rather than months later. A recent check of supplier sources provides 100-percent confirmation that the V-badged coupe will arrive in May 2009.
It appears as if there may be question in regards to the ability of enough exhaust to freely flow through the center-mounted exhaust for the super charged LSa engine. If it is, than the Mercedes Benz CLK63 Black series, BMW M3 Coupe and upcoming Audi RS5 have their work cut out for them.
Referred to internally as “GMX226 V S/C,”, the CTC-V should have the familiar wire mesh grille, power dome hood and agressive, low front fascia. It’ll start production during the last week of May in 2009 – along with the non-V CTC (or CTS Coupe).
